Announcements
Rotary Club Announcements July 26, 2022
 
The Club’s board met last week immediately following our regular meeting.  Amongst the decisions made are:
  1. Approved the membership application for Mike Kempker and will be scheduling an induction date with him and Griffin Graham, his sponsor.
  2. Holding the membership application for Holly Boyd until confirmation of her interest in joining.
  3. Approved a grant of $1,640 to Safe Kids of Greater South Haven to build Life Jacket Loaner Boards to be placed at both North Beach and South Beach.
  4. Approved a grant of $250 to Make-a-Wish Michigan to support Tom Noverr’s ride.
  5. Added a position to the board for the new position of chair of the Youth Services Committee…yet to be determined.
The Youth Services Committee held its first meeting on July 21st.   Melinda will give an update next week.
Don Hodgman has Aug. 14th pancake breakfast sign up sheets available, please sign-up today to work a shift or 2.
The District Foundation raffle tickets are available for purchase from Dave Campbell, please see him to sign up to buy tickets so the Club can remain a 100% giving Club.  This raffle supports the Karl Sandelin Grants, of which we have been a recipient every year for the past several years.
The Rotary Foundation has just sent an announcement to Clubs of a case of paralytic polio confirmed in Rockland County, NY.  The person is unvaccinated.  Obviously, our work to eradicate polio around the world is not done.  The Rotary Foundation spends $50 million each year on its Polio Plus programs
