Sharalyn Davis the District Governor Elect!

Sharalyn Davis, BM, MT-BC, MBA, joined the Climax Michigan Rotary Club while elected to school board in 2003. She served as club president within a year, then assistant governor, district Bio-Sand water filter (two Dominican Republic trips), foundation and alumni committees soon after. She currently celebrates being immersed in RI District Governor training, meeting our fantastic District 6360 Clubs, and leading Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Club Visioning committees.
International Conventions attended include Montreal, Chicago, and Houston in 2022. In 2018 she joined Cereal City Sunrise Rotary Club in Battle Creek Michigan and soon traveled with a Rotary International DREAM TEAM to build a dam in rural India (2018). The theme the year Sharalyn joined Rotary, 'Sow the Seeds of Love', spoke directly to the heart of this music therapist, creative arts/recreation/wellness therapist, and humanitarian. Serving hospitalized Veterans as a therapist at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center, using artistic expression for self-realization and recovery, made for a joy-filled career. She felt privileged to share in the transformation of so many lives through therapeutic arts, and belief in the resiliency of the human spirit.
Leading with Love remains her passion as a Rotarian. During her governance she hopes to promote community arts, mental health, international service, and connecting to Veterans. She performs (clarinetist) with many local groups and travels with the National Medical Musical Orchestra (Washington DC) to perform ambassadorial benefit concerts. She's performed in Taiwan (2019), Poland/Lithuania/Latvia (2018), Moscow/St. Petersburg, South Africa, Spain, Morocco, Switzerland, France, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Toronto. In 2019 she traveled with Agape Community Transformation to teach music in Uganda. She continues sharing joy through music outreach at nursing homes, food banks, shelters and churches.
Leadership experiences include Michigan Political Leadership Program (MSU), Music Center of South-Central Michigan, AAUW, Climax-Scotts School Board, League of Women Voters, Climax Township, Calhoun County United Way/Combined Federal Campaigns, National Veterans Creative Arts Festivals, and MSU 4-H. Her interests include music/dance/theatre, farming, fitness, international service, and social activism. She anticipates Peace Corps and non-profit service pursuits following the District Governor adventure!
She pursued music performance degree at Grand Valley State University, completed a Bachelor's in Music/Music Therapy from Western Michigan University, was awarded a Michigan Political Leadership fellowship (MSU), and received a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in strategic management from Davenport University.
